This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow inspectors from our region.  \nSincerely\, \nLeo Hogan \nSSBOA President \n  \nSSBOA September Meeting & Educational Seminar\nWednesday\, September 23\, 2026 \nJoin SSBOA for our September meeting and educational class presented by Stego Industries. \nVapor Barriers: Nuisance or Necessity? \nThis class will cover below-slab vapor barriers\, moisture protection\, and common issues that can occur when moisture moves through a concrete slab. \nTopics will include: \n\nCurrent vapor barrier standards and recommendations from ASTM\, ACI\, and PCA\nDifferences between polyethylene and other vapor barrier products\nProper vapor barrier placement and installation\nConcrete moisture testing and drying\nRadon gas considerations\nCommon below-slab moisture problems\nChoosing the proper vapor barrier for a project\n\nAbout the Instructor \nPatrick Murphy has worked around the construction industry since high school. He graduated from Purdue University in 2017 and joined Stego Industries in 2019. \nFor the past seven years\, Patrick has specialized in below-slab vapor barriers and moisture protection.
